Joseph Clevenger

Joseph Clevenger is the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services and Programs at the San Diego County Office of Education, overseeing student safety, Juvenile Court and Community Schools, and special education services. Formerly the superintendent of Bonsall Unified School District, he is known for his bilingual communication, collaborative leadership, and commitment to creating supportive environments for the whole child. He currently chairs the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education and is engaged in advancing SDCOE's goals of reducing poverty and increasing belonging. Recently named San Diego’s Innovative Superintendent of the Year, he brings over 20 years of experience dedicated to expanding equitable access to education.
